Bone Music

I’m thrilled to announce that my fifth book of poetry, entitled Bone Music, just won the Louise Bogan Award. The book, selected by Kimiko Hahn, will be published by Trio House Press in the spring of 2016. The manuscript is punctuated by a series of formal poems about jazz musicians: a couple sonnets for Miles Davis, a couple villanelles for Chet Baker, a few haiku for Bud Powell, and a slew of others. My hope is that those poems add texture to the overall manuscript, accentuating it the way a snare might give particular stress to a jazz solo. Looking forward to finding the right cover image!
