New sonnet for Miles Davis in Brilliant Corners

Check out the newest issue of Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz and Literature. It’s an amazing issue with poems by the likes of Betsy Sholl, David Wojahn, and Robert Wrigley. There’s even a short response about the intersections of jazz and language by one of my favorite pianists, Bill Charlap (piano playing doesn’t get much more beautiful than his Written in the Stars). Oh, and I’ve got a sonnet about Miles in there, too. Top it off with a series of linoleum block prints by artist Peter Bodge and, well, you’ll see why Brilliant Corners is one of the most consistently engaging journals out there, period.
